Brian Goble's Non-Sequential Conversion, Part 2
6/15/99
1994 Mazda RX-7, R2, Red (for more info, check out: Brian Goble's RX-7 Page)
At this point, everything necessary was removed and sent out for maching, ceramic coating, or polishing. Everything is now back and the next step is to put it all back together.
The exhaust manifold, turbo manifolds, and downpipe were ceramic coated at Performance Coatings in Auburn Washington. The coating is on the outside and inside and is good up to 2000 degrees F.
Trev took care of modifying the turbo assembly for non-sequential operation as well as porting the wastegate.
Hayes Rotary Engineering took care of the polishing duties (they outsource it to Bellevue Plating, but are able to get things done much quicker and cheaper since they do a lot of business with them).
Below are some pictures of the parts before they go back into the engine compartment.
